Terms of Service

Welcome to Tidy Peaceful Homes (“we,” “our,” or “us”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our services, including our website at tidypeacefulhomes.com (the “Site”), in-person and virtual home organization services, and any related offerings (collectively, the “Services”).

By using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our Services.

1. Services We Provide

• In-Home Organization Sessions
• One-on-one decluttering coaching
• Personalized organization
• Storage solutions and product recommendations
• Light cleaning of the service area (surface wipe-down, dusting, sweeping, vacuuming)
• Disposal of trash generated during the session
• Donation drop-off of items gathered during the organizing session (up to 5 bags included, $5 per each additional bag)
• Virtual 1:1 Sessions
• Virtual decluttering coaching
• Guided organization sessions via video call
• Support and tips for decluttering and organizing your space

2. Services We Do Not Provide

• Cleaning such as dish washing, laundry, scrubbing, disinfecting, bulk trash disposal, or stain removal
• Assembly of Ikea furniture or other similar time-intensive items, items that require power tools, or items that require permanent installation
• Furniture installation, moving, or disposal
• Packing services

3. Pricing

Standard Rates

• Base Service Rate for In-Person Sessions: $50/hour per organizer - Includes decluttering coaching, storage starter kit of up to 5 small baskets/bins, sorting, organizing, light cleaning, donation drop-off, and trash disposal
• Supply & Travel Fee: $50 flat rate - For locations outside our service area (a 20 mile radius centered at the intersection of Townpoint Road and College Drive in Suffolk)
• Donation & Trash Removal Limit: Up to 5 bags included per session. Additional bags may be removed for $5 each
• Virtual 1:1 Session: $50/hour

Add-On Services

• Labeling: $20 - For handwritten or printed labels for organized areas
• Small Storage Bins (available at session): $30 - Includes up to 15 small baskets or bins; additional bins available at $1.50 each or priced as marked
• Virtual Shopping Cart Assistance: $50 non-refundable deposit - We'll help you create a virtual cart of items to purchase before your scheduled session. Includes a 30-minute virtual consultation. See Section 6 for full Shopping Policy details
• In-Store Shopping: $50 non-refundable deposit - We'll shop for you and deliver items at your scheduled session. Includes a 30-minute virtual consultation. See Section 6 for full Shopping Policy details
• Bulky or Assembled Storage Handling: $50 non-refundable deposit (plus reimbursement for products) - For sourcing storage solutions in-store on your behalf that are heavy, oversized, or build-it-yourself storage units. This does not include pre-built furniture

Note: Deposit covers acquisition and delivery only; it does not include assembly. If assembly is required, it will be charged at our standard rate of $50 per hour. Assembly does not include Ikea furniture or other similar time-intensive items, items that require power tools, or items that require permanent installation; it includes snap-together items or simple assembly only. Assembly must take place during a scheduled organizing session at the client’s home and will be included in the estimated completion time

4. Booking & Payment Policies

• Consultation Required: All new clients must complete a phone or virtual consultation prior to scheduling In-Home Services
• Scheduling: Appointments and consultations must be scheduled via the booking page of the website
• Minimum In-Home Session rate: Bookings have a base rate of $150 which covers 3 hours of service. Sessions less than 3 hours will still be charged the minimum fee of $150 unless otherwise agreed to in writing. We reserve the right to waive the minimum fee.
• Deposits: A non-refundable deposit of up to $100 may be required for add-on services or packages
• Payment Due:
  • Virtual Sessions: full payment is due at the time of booking
  • In-Home Sessions: full payment for hours worked and any add-on services is due at the completion of service each day
  • We accept cash, venmo, and cards. Card payments are subject to a 3% service fee
• Refunds: All payments and deposits are non-refundable. This includes payments for unused sessions, completed sessions, partially used packages, and deposits for add-on services. Please book mindfully and communicate any scheduling issues as early as possible. See section 5 for Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy details
• Time Adjustments:
  • If your session finishes early, you’ll be billed only for the time used at the $50/hour rate plus applicable fees (minimum fee of $150)
  • If the session runs over, we’ll pause and confirm whether you’d like to continue at the same hourly rate

5. Cancellations & Rescheduling

• Cancellations and rescheduling must be made at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a fee
• One reschedule is allowed per In-Home or Virtual appointment without penalty as long as it is made more than 24 hours in advance
• No-shows or cancellations within 24 hours for In-Home Services will be charged $30
• No-shows or cancellations within 24 hours for Virtual Services results in a forfeiture of your session
• We may waive cancellation fees at our discretion

6. Shopping Policy

Tidy Peaceful Homes offers Shopping Assistance as an add-on service to help clients source organizing products that suit their space, style, and budget. To streamline this process and avoid reimbursement delays, we’ve outlined the following policies:

• Virtual Shopping Cart Assistance:
• Clients will receive a curated product list or shopping cart link based on their consultation
• Clients are responsible for placing, paying for, and assembling all product orders unless otherwise agreed to in writing

• In-Store Shopping:
• Includes sourcing, purchasing, and delivery of products to the scheduled session
• All purchases must be paid for in advance using one of the following methods:
• Store-specific gift cards (Target, The Container Store, etc.)
• Prepaid virtual or physical cards
• Client-submitted online orders for in-store pickup (we will pick up)
• Payment in advance upon approval of product list
• We do not accept reimbursements after purchases have been made unless explicitly agreed to in writing
• Receipts and Documentation:
• Receipts will be provided to clients for all purchases made on their behalf
• Product links or itemized lists will be shared prior to purchasing when possible
• Returns & Exchanges:
• Clients are responsible for any returns or exchanges unless otherwise agreed upon in writing
• We are happy to assist with returns or store visits for an additional fee

7. Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for the following:

• Being present and available to make decisions about their belongings unless otherwise agreed to in writing
• Ensuring the service area is safe and accessible
• Disclosing any safety concerns, including pests such as bed bugs, termites, or cockroaches
• Securing pets and supervising young children during service
• Securing valuables, breakables, and sensitive documents prior to service
• Purchasing, receiving, and assembling products from virtual shopping carts shared by Tidy Peaceful Homes unless otherwise agreed in writing

8. Liability

We take great care in our work, but:

• We are not liable for damage or loss unless proven to be caused by our gross negligence
• We are not responsible for issues arising from improperly installed or pre-existing storage systems or furniture
• By participating in our services, you acknowledge that you are doing so voluntarily and at your own risk. TIdy Peaceful Homes does not assume any liability for any injuries or damages that may occur as a result of following our advice or recommendations
• Virtual sessions are not therapy, counseling, or a substitute for mental health treatment. We do not diagnose or treat mental health conditions, and we encourage clients to seek support from a licensed professional for those needs

9. Use of Photos

With your written or verbal consent, we may take “before and after” photos for marketing purposes (e.g., website or social media). Identifying information and personal items will not be visible or shared without your explicit permission

10. Intellectual Property

All content on our Site, including text, photos, graphics, and organizational systems we develop, is the property of Tidy Peaceful Homes and may not be used or reproduced without permission

11. Privacy

We respect your privacy. Any personal information you share with us is used solely for scheduling, communication, and service improvement. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for more information

12. Termination

We reserve the right to refuse or terminate service if a client behaves inappropriately, breaches these Terms, or creates an unsafe or hostile environment

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Virginia, without regard to its conflict of laws principles
