Terms of Service

Welcome to Tidy Peaceful Homes (“we,” “our,” or “us”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our services, including our website at tidypeacefulhomes.com (the “Site”), in-person and virtual home organization services, and any related offerings (collectively, the “Services”).
By using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our Services.
1. Services We Provide
We offer professional home organization services, including but not limited to:
- In-home organization and one-on-one decluttering guidance
- Custom organization solutions and product recommendations
- Light cleaning of the service area (surface wipe-down, dusting, sweeping, vacuuming)
- Disposal of trash generated during the session
- Donation drop-off of items gathered during the organizing session
Note: We include removal of up to five (5) donation or trash bags per session. Additional bags may be removed for a fee of $5 per bag, or clients may choose to handle them independently
1a. Services We Do Not Provide
- Cleaning such as dish washing, laundry, scrubbing, disinfecting, or stain removal
- Assembly of Ikea furniture or other similar time-intensive items, items that require power tools, or items that require permanent installation
- Furniture moving or disposal
2. Pricing & Payment
Standard Rates
- Base Service Rate: $50/hour per organizer - Includes sorting, organizing, decluttering guidance, light cleaning, donation drop-off, and trash disposal
- Supply & Travel Fee: $30-50 flat rate - Covers gas, basic supplies, and travel distance
- Donation & Trash Removal Limit: Up to 5 bags included per session. Additional bags may be removed for $5 each
Add-On Services
- Labeling: $25 - For handwritten or printed labels for organized areas
- Small Storage Bins (available at session): $25 - Includes up to 10 small baskets or bins; additional bins available at $1.50 each or priced as marked
- Virtual Shopping Cart Assistance: $50 non-refundable deposit - We'll help you create a virtual cart of items to purchase before your scheduled session. Includes a 30-minute virtual consultation. See Section 2a for full Shopping Policy details
- In-Store Shopping: $50 non-refundable deposit - We'll shop for you and deliver items at your scheduled session. Includes a 30-minute virtual consultation. See Section 2a for full Shopping Policy details
- Bulky or Assembled Storage Handling: $50 non-refundable deposit (plus reimbursement for products) - For sourcing storage solutions in-store on your behalf that are heavy, oversized, or build-it-yourself storage units. This does not include pre-built furniture
Note: $50 deposit covers acquisition and delivery only; it does not include assembly. If assembly is required,
it will be charged at our standard rate of $50 per hour. Assembly does not include Ikea furniture or other similar time-intensive
items, items that require power tools, or items that require permanent installation; it includes snap-together items or simple assembly only.
Assembly must take place during a scheduled
organizing session at the client’s home and will be included in the estimated completion time
Booking & Payment Policies
- Consultation Required: All new clients must complete a phone or virtual consultation prior to booking
- Scheduling: Appointments must be scheduled via phone or email
- Deposits: A non-refundable deposit of up to $100 may be required for add-on services or packages
- Payment Due:
- If service takes one day or less, full payment is due at the completion of service
- If service takes more than one day, payment for the day is due at the end of the day billed at our standard
hourly rate of $50/hour plus reimburesment of any purchased items. Any remaining balance is due at the end of the service
- We accept cash and cards
Time Adjustments:
- If your session finishes early, you’ll be billed only for the time used at the $50/hour rate plus applicable fees
- If the session runs over, we’ll pause and confirm whether you’d like to continue at the same hourly rate
2a. Shopping Policy
Tidy Peaceful Homes offers Shopping Assistance as an add-on service to help clients source organizing products that suit their space, style, and budget.
To streamline this process and avoid reimbursement delays, we’ve outlined the following policies:
- Virtual Shopping Cart Assistance:
- Clients will receive a curated product list or shopping cart link based on their consultation
- Clients are responsible for placing, paying for, and assembling all product orders unless otherwise agreed to in writing
- In-Store Shopping:
- Includes sourcing, purchasing, and delivery of products to the scheduled session
- All purchases must be paid for in advance using one of the following methods:
- Store-specific gift cards (Target, The Container Store, etc.)
- Prepaid virtual or physical cards
- Client-submitted online orders for in-store pickup (we will pick up)
- Payment in advance upon approval of product list
- We do not accept reimbursements after purchases have been made unless explicitly agreed to in writing
- Receipts and Documentation:
- Receipts will be provided to clients for all purchases made on their behalf
- Product links or itemized lists will be shared prior to purchasing when possible
- Returns & Exchanges:
- Clients are responsible for any returns or exchanges unless otherwise agreed upon in writing
- We are happy to assist with returns or store visits for an additional fee
3. Cancellations & Rescheduling
- Cancellations and rescheduling must be made at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a cancellation fee
- No-shows or cancellations within 24 hours will be charged $30
- One reschedule is allowed per appointment without penalty, as long as it is made more than 24 hours in advance
- We may waive cancellation fees at our discretion
4. Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for the following:
- Being present and available to make decisions about their belongings unless otherwise agreed to in writing
- Ensuring the service area is safe and accessible
- Disclosing any safety concerns, including pests such as bed bugs, termites, or cockroaches
- Securing pets and supervising young children during service
- Securing valuables, breakables, and sensitive documents prior to service
- Purchasing, receiving, and assembling products from virtual shopping carts shared by Tidy Peaceful Homes unless otherwise agreed in writing
5. Liability
We take great care in our work, but:
- We are not liable for damage or loss unless proven to be caused by our gross negligence
- We are not responsible for issues arising from improperly installed or pre-existing storage systems or furniture
6. Use of Photos
With your written or verbal consent, we may take “before and after” photos for marketing purposes (e.g., website or social media). Identifying information and personal items will not be visible or shared without your explicit permission
7. Intellectual Property
All content on our Site, including text, photos, graphics, and organizational systems we develop, is the property of Tidy Peaceful Homes and may not be used or reproduced without permission
8. Privacy
We respect your privacy. Any personal information you share with us is used solely for scheduling, communication, and service improvement. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for more information
9. Termination
We reserve the right to refuse or terminate service if a client behaves inappropriately, breaches these Terms, or creates an unsafe or hostile environment
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Virginia, without regard to its conflict of laws principles
